Southwest
Getaway Installation
Our
client asked for a "southwest themed getaway", and we delivered.
It wasn't easy though. The client wanted the project completed in less
than a month, and to make things worse, the room was surrounded on
all six surfaces by concrete, causing a tremendous echo problem. The
timing problem was overcome by a concerted effort between the trades
involved and by efficient project management. The echo was tamed by
upholstering the walls between the columns and behind the screen area.
Since the client wanted an old southwest feel to the room, we suggested
installing shutters from an old farmhouse to serve a decorative function
and to double as sound diffusion panels. The room is centered around
a large screen projection system, THX sound and automated lighting.
Ease of operation was accomplished with a color touch screen control
system. Source components include DVD, HDTV, DBS, and VHS. Reclining
cinema chairs complement the dÈcor of the room. The room was
completed on time and sounds great and has become the client's favorite
place in the house.
